Associate Professor of Oboe, Master's Supervisor, Central Conservatory of Music / Deputy Director of the Research Department, Central Conservatory of Music

In 1999, he was invited to serve as principal oboe of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, becoming the youngest principal oboe since the orchestra was founded. In 2001, he went to the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in the UK to study for Master's degree in oboe and received a full scholarship. In 2005, he joined the Central Conservatory of Music as a teacher, teaching oboe and chamber music performance courses. Fang Hengjian is not only active on the international stage as an distinguished performer, he has also attracted much attention for his achievements as a teacher. Since becoming a teacher, his students have won many awards in major music competitions at home and abroad including: first place in Leila Bull oboe Prize oboe competition (UK) in 2013, and Bronze Medal in Woodwind Quintet Competition in the 7th Chinese Music Golden Bell Award in 2009. Fang Hengjian has held several solo concerts in China and has been invited to perform, exchange and give lectures at home and abroad. He published several music albums: In 2007, he was invited to record the CD "Woodwind Caprices - Album of the Seven Great Woodwind Players of the Central Conservatory of Music"; in 2012 and 2013, the China Record Corporation published and released the CD "Oboe Performance Album by Fang Hengjian" and DVD " Fang Hengjian Chamber Music Concert". In 2012 and 2015, he was invited to hold solo concerts at the International Double Reed Society Music Festival (IDRS), and was highly praised by people in the industry.
